This is an original print by artist Frances Daws, Made using a collograph method
A collograph is closer to a form of etching, where the ink sits within the grooves of a plate rather than on the top ( as in lino printing) know as intaglio printing. A plate is carved or can be layered with collage materials, it is then varnished before inking up, once inked up it is transferred to the paper through a press. The process is usually longer than relief printing as involves a number of extra steps to get a finished piece.
